Major Changes on the Immigration Horizon

Posted:

Before the Senate's version of comprehensive immigration reform can become law, the Senate must reach an agreement with the House of Representatives, which passed a mean-spirited separate bill that would require everyone here without status to leave the country. Once a compromise, final bill is agreed to by the House and the Senate, it must go to the President for his signature before it becomes law. If the House and Senate fail to reach an agreement, the United States' broken immigration system will remain the same - broken! All of the Partners at HECHT & SMITH have been in contact with our Senators and elected representatives urging them to move forward on this much needed and long overdue reform. The summer of 2006 may finally be the summer that dreams come true for millions of deserving immigrants in this country.
