Teuta returned to the United States in 1994 as a visiting scholar at Willamette University College of Law to expand her knowledge on U.S. immigration and employment law. Prior to coming to the United States Teuta studied law at the University of Tirana where she graduated with honors and was a student at the University of Geneva Law School. After graduation, she was a staff attorney in the Albanian Department of Labor and Migration where she worked with foreign experts on drafting new employment and immigration laws for post-communist Albania. In addition, she taught at the University of Tirana Law School and School of Economics. As an immigrant herself, Teuta understands the needs and challenges of foreign nationals facing the highly regulated arena of U.S. immigration law. She advises clients on family and employment based immigration, naturalization, asylum, non-immigrant visas and consular processing. She also specializes in medical and other Health-related immigration. Teuta is a member of the Oregon State Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is fluent in English, Albanian and Italian, and semi-fluent in Russian.
